Environment

The first 8 weeks of a dog's life are very important and have a huge impact on their temperament and personality. We provide all of our puppies with a healthy and stimulating environment. From the time they are born until they go to their forever homes, we work with them individually to provide enrichment, temperament testing, training, and lots of love.

Where do they live?

All of our puppies live with us and our dogs in our home. Whether they are tiny and still in the whelping box or big enough to run around, they are always located in the central part of the house. They know they are part of the family and are constantly interacting with humans and dogs. Additionally, there is always someone sleeping on the sofa next to them each night to ensure their safety and well-being.

Enrichment

To ensure our puppies are well-adjusted to their future homes, we expose them to a variety of experiences. We socialize them with both adults and children who visit our home, and our adult dogs provide opportunities for the puppies to interact with other dogs. We introduce grooming early on to acclimate them to tasks like baths and nail trimming. Additionally, we expose them to new sounds, car rides, indoor and outdoor play, different surfaces and textures, and various smells. During the first 8 weeks of their lives, we conduct temperament testing and ensure that they receive consistent physical and mental stimulation.

Training

It is never too early to start training! We work with our puppies on behavioral shaping and basic manners, starting with name recognition as one of the first things we focus on. Once the puppies are old enough, we begin teaching them basic commands such as "sit," "no biting/chewing," and potty pad training. As they grow older, they graduate to potty training outside and leash walking. We encourage everyone to sign up for a puppy class so that they can continue their training and socialization.
